NET/SET COACHING FOR ENGLISH, URDU & LIFE SCIENCE:

University Grants Commission sponsored NET/SET study center will be organized by Maulana Azad College, Kolkata and commence from 8th September, 2010 for English, Urdu and Life Sciences.

Experienced professional from reputed Colleges / Institutions / Universities will guide and prepare the students to appear for NET/SET examinations.

OBJECTIVE OF THE COURSE:

In view of the education policy of UGC to provide access and facility to SC/ST/OBC and Minorities, Maulana Azad College has taken up the cause ofthe unprivileged section of the students to facilitate them to blend into the mainstream of higher education.

The goal is to strengthen the knowledge base, skills, aptitude and provide guidance to take up challenges in the field of higher education.

ELIGIBILITY FOR ENROLMENT:

Students who have passed M.A. / M.Sc. or currently are in their final year of post graduation are eligible to apply for NET / SET study program.

Under Sections 2(f) and 12B of the UGC Act, the students belonging to SC/ST/OBC (non creamy layer) and Minorities will be considered for financial assistance under this scheme. The students belonging to economically weaker sections and physically challenged students may also avail this facility.

All the classes under this scheme will be held beyond the normal classes of the existing college routine of Maulana Azad College.

REMEDIAL COACHING FOR COLLEGE STUDENTS:

A Remedial Coaching for SC / ST / OBC (non-creamy layer) / Minorities / others is going to be conducted in Maulana Azad College on and from 27th August 2010 (Friday).

OBJECTIVE OF THE COURSE:

Remedial Coaching is to be organized at Undergraduate / Postgraduate level with a view to:

  • Improving academic skills and linguistic proficiency of the students in various subjects.
  • Raising their level of comprehension of basic subjects to provide a stronger foundation for further academic work.
  • Strengthening their knowledge, skills and attitudes in such subjects, where quantitative and qualitative techniques and laboratory activities are involved so that proper guidance and training provided under the programme may enable the students to come up to the level necessary for pursuing higher studies efficiently.

ELIGIBILITY FOR ENROLMENT:

The student must be a regular student of Maulana Azad College.
